Are you fed up of your netbooks falling apart or malfunctioning after a couple of years? Probably not for the average consumer but for those who need mobility in extreme environments Handheld is right by your side with their latest 10-inch rugged netbook – the Algiz XRW.

The Algiz XRW packs in specs you’d expect in a business class netbook and maybe more – a 10.1″ 1366 x 768  display, Intel Atom Z550 (2.0GHz) processor, 2GB DDR2 RAM, 64GB SSD, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, optional 3G and WiMAX, GPS, 2.0MP webcam, 8 hour 57.6Wh battery and Windows 7 Ultimate. For ports – 2x USB 2.0, SD card slot, VGA, docking port, audio jacks, receiver and serial port. Then there’s the ruggedness – a matte display designed for viewing outdoors, shock-proof SSD, IP65 and MIL-STD-810F certifications to withstand water, sand, dust, high humidity, high altitude and shocks.

Clearly not for the average consumer and no doubt priced way above what you’d want to shell out for a netbook when it hits in December, price unknown.
