At the AMD booth at IFA 2010 we happened to see the Dell, Dell’s latest generation 11.6-incher taking over from the previous and which went on sale in the US early last month and the UK even earlier. We’ve seen it before it promo shoots and in reviews so there’s no surprise here. Thumbs up to the unbending chiclet keyboard, HDMI port and real mouse buttons lacking on the previous generation. They were demoing 1080p HD video which the new AMD Nile platform inside handles with ease.
Recapping the specs – an 11.6″ 1366 x 768 display (glossy), AMD Athlon II Neo processors, ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics, n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, 1.3MP webcam, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and a 56Wh 6-cell battery good for 6.5 hours. For ports – 3x USB 2.0, 10/100 LAN, VGA, HDMI, card reader and audio jacks.
Price starts at $450 for the single core AMD Athlon II Neo K125 (1.7GHz) model with price increasing for the dual core K325 processo equipped model. It is already available to buy directly from Dell.com.
