Samsung NF110, NF210 and NF310 Series Netbook Hands On – IFA 2010

If you’re in the loop then you’ve noticed that Samsung announced three new netbooks yesterday. The Samsung NF110, NF210 and NF310 with the latter being the high end model and the NF110 being the base bargain model, which won’t be available in the US. Apart from these three netbooks the Samsung N150 is getting an upgrade to a dual core Atom N550 processor which I’m pretty sure is the NF110. We’ll see these netbooks on the market in October but for now check out our hands on coverage of these netbooks at IFA 2010.

Samsung NF310

Let’s start with the high end NF310 model. Chassis has the highest build material of the lot. Chiclet keyboard, metallic trackpad. Dual core Atom N550 or single core Atom N455 processors, 10.1″ 1366 x 768 HD matte display, 1 / 2GB DDR3 RAM, 250GB HDD, 3D SRS Premium Sound, 11 hour battery (48Wh), N Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, Windows 7 Starter and optional 3G. The usual array of ports. It’ll be out in October for $399.

Samsung NF210

Slightly lower quality build material with a glossy lid but otherwise the chassis is identical between them all. Trackpad this time is flush with the palm rest with subtle dimples. We’ve got a 10.1″ 1024 x 600 matte display, Intel Atom N455 or dual core N550 processor, 1 / 2GB DDR3 RAM, 250GB HDD, 0.3MP webcam, n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, SRS 3D Surround Sound and Windows 7 Starter. Oddly this mid range model has a better battery – 14.5 hours with a 66Wh battery. The NF210 is coming in October for $379 and will be exclusive to Sam’s Club in the US.

Samsung NF110

Last of all, the base NF110 model. Plastics look a little cheaper. Matte white on the inside, glossy black lid and screen bezel. Samsung keyboard as the N150 so I’m guessing this will be the new N150. We’ve got a single core Atom N475 processor, 1 / 2GB DDR3 RAM, 250GB HDD and Windows 7 Starter.
