While there hasn’t been any official release date mentioned in the US we have seen ExcaliberPC put up product pages for both a silver and black ASUS Eee PC 1215N with a scheduled release date of the end of August, which matches with the official word from ASUS in Europe. It’s gone official over there in a few countries where it’ll be priced at 499 euros with a shipping date at the start of September. Pricing is also $499 in the US according to said listings.
Specs will differ from the US release – 2GB of RAM and 250GB HDD versus the US’ 4GB of RAM and 320GB HDD (that isn’t confirmed however for the US model).
The ASUS Eee PC 1215N is heavily anticipated because it features a dual core Atom D525 processor (1.8 GHz), has Nvidia ION 2 graphics and will finally include Nvidia Optimus to save on battery life. That, and a new improved, matte chassis with Bluetooth 3.0.
