The flood of video continues from Computex! While Sasha and James were at the Jetway stand, they encountered along with a number of tablets, the smartphone Jetway ALFAR560. It looks and feels like a cheaper alternative to Galaxy Note. The unit is 11 millimeters thicker and the ARM 11 chip is used instead. The performance isn’t outstanding, but the device might be interesting because its price is expected to be lower and because it provides among other things, dual SIM support.
The gadget has a 5.15 inch display with capacitive touchscreen and a resolution of 800 × 480 pixels. A MediaTek MTK6575 single processor core operating at 650 MHz powers the device. It works in conjunction with Android Ice Cream Sandwich, which make sit run pretty smoothly. The smartphone comes with 512 MB RAM, GPS, WLAN, UMTS support, a VGA webcam on the front and a 5-megapixel cam on the back. The price could come to well under $200.
