VIA has introduced the ARTiGO A1200, a new Pico-ITX builder kit for those of you who like to build your own machines. The kit builds a very compact multimedia computer that works without a fan. The system has a VIA Eden X2 dual-core x86 processor with two 1.0 GHz cores on board and can be equipped with up to four gigabytes of DDR3 RAM. The case measures only 9.2 × 4.9 × 1.2 inches. It’s very small and can easily be affixed to the back of a monitor. Despite its small size, the computer should be able to play HD video, even up to 1080p.
Other features of the VIA ARTiGO A1200 include: 2 full gigabit ethernet ports, one USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0 ports, VGA and HDMI ports, headphone jacks and even COM ports. The kit is available now through the VIA store in the U.S.. The Distributor E-ITX accepts international sales. The average price of the basic model of the ARTiGO A1200 on E-ITX is $310.
