The biggest selling feature of the new iPad besides its quad core processor is its 2048 x 1536 which is exactly double the resolution of the iPad 2. So the question is can the average person tell the difference? The guys from The Next Web stood out side of an Apple store and asked people who had just picked up the new iPad if they could tell the difference between it and the iPad 2. You’ll be surprised how many people got it wrong!

like TVs, it’s all about the source content. Basically if you watch an HD video in an HD TV. Can you see the difference in 720p or 1080i or even 1080p? Junk comes in, junk comes out.

That same thing happened when I was checking them out at Best Buy. The sales guy had to look twice to make sure which was the new one and he basically lied his ass off to a clueless couple about all the things that made the new one the obvious choice for their facebook and email needs.

while i agree that source content matters, but if a source content can display up to 1080p but the output device is only capable of 720, you are not gonna see a better graphics.
