I’ve been waiting forever for ASUS’ sexy netbook triplet (1015P, 1016P and 1018P) to debut in the US market and it looks like the long wait is over, well, partially and almost a little too late. Certainly the excitement has died down a little given the arrival of new platforms from AMD and Intel.
Both the ASUS Eee PC 1018P and Eee PC 1016P are now up for pre-order at ExcaliberPC.com. The 1015P / PE is still nowhere in sight yet.
Both netbooks tout superior build quality over most netbooks out there along with a few new features which means a price tag of over $400 – well over the average priced netbook. The 1018p is the cheaper of the two priced at $429. The 1016P costs a mighty $499.
Those features? Aside from matte displays and brushed metal lids, faster USB 3.0 ports, DDR3 RAM and a fingerprint scanner on the 1018P.
The ETA for both netbooks is on July 29, at the end of this month.
