Acer is never one for big fan fare around software updates, so the silent roll out of Ice Cream Sandwich onto their newly released Acer Iconia Tab A200 Android tablet isn’t surprising.  Especially since Acer did announce that they expected the budget tablet to be getting the update in February.

If you’ve got an Acer Iconia Tab A200 you’re week is about to get off to a great start since you’ll be getting an Android 4.0.3 update.  The exact version number is Acer_AV041_A200_1.037.00_PA_CUS1. If you have yet to be prompted to update your tablet, it might be a good idea to force your tablet to look for it. Just go to Settings > About tablet > System update > Check now and you should be set.

In case you missed it the Acer Iconia Tab A200 features a dual-core Tegra 2 processor, a 1280 x 800 10.1-inch display, and 8GB and 16GB storage options. The starting price is $329.99 for the 8GB and topping off at $349.99 for the 16GB. Also on board is a 2MP front-facing camera, microSD slot for expanded storage, and a full-sized USB 2.0 port.
