Samsung already confirmed that they will not debut the Galaxy S III at Mobile World Congress, instead opting for a private event later in the year. Today they went further and confirmed to PC Mag that they will not hold a press conference at MWC, either.
Samsung will still have some new product announcements, as well as a booth at the show, but will focus on one-on-one meetings instead of making splashy introductions on stage.
It’s rumored that they will debut a new tablet with the dual-core, 2 GHz Exynos 5250 processor. This could be the Android 4.0, 11.6-inch tablet with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 that was detailed back in December of last year.
Other features mentioned in the rumor were:
- using Android Beam feature in Android 4.0 to enable easy sharing between the tablet and the Galaxy Nexus
- wireless docking mode to enable gaming on (Samsung?) HDTVs and more, similar to Apple’s AirPlay feature
So while Samsung is pulling back their presence at Mobile World Congress, we still may see quite an interesting product debut.
