Netbooks don’t exactly have a lot of different processors, so its note worthy when a new one comes out, actually the past few months have been interesting with AMD’s 1.6GHz Neo MV-40 coming to market.
Now we have Intel’s N475 processor is clocked at 1.83GHz which is what we expected a step up from the 1.66GHz with the N450. The N475 will be paired with DDR3 memory versus just DDR2 memory being used with the N450. N475 power consumption comes in at 6.5 watts whereas the N450 uses a comparable 5.5 watts.
The AMD’s 1.6GHz Neo MV-40 has a higher power consumption at 15 W, you get more power, but AMD’s power envelop makes it less of a mobile device because of its lower battery life.
