ASUS’s first 7-inch tablet, the Eee Pad MeMO 370T, has made its debut at CES 2012.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the Eee Pad MeMO, but the model that was first shown at Computex with the mini handset/media controller accessory never really materialized. This new version shown at CES 2012 has some newer internals, most notably a Tegra 3 processor. It is also running Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich.
And actually, we reported on a leak from Notebook Italia before CES, where it was thought that this may be a 7-inch sibling to the Transformer Prime. That didn’t bear out, but it’s still nice to see a version of the Eee Pad MeMo that will be coming to market soon.
The MeMO still has stylus support, which Nicole briefly demonstrated in the video below. It’s likely the main differentiator for the MeMO now that the mini remote is gone. ASUS has also added a few interface tweaks, like a scrollable settings widget in the bottom right-hand corner menu.
Tegra 3 definitely plays back HD videos smoothly (though the one pre-loaded on the MeMO looks a bit risqué!) as seen in the hands-on.
Check out the video for yourself. The Eee Pad MeMO looks like a great near-future addition to the 7-inch tablet space from ASUS.
