ASUS is building on its Transformer Prime with a preimum edition, the ASUS Transformer 700 or TF700T with its premium features being a HD display and an upgrade to a 2MP front facing camera. It is identical to the Transformer Prime with its frame with 10.1-inch screen running NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 within (1.3GHz quad-core Cortex A9) and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage space.
It’s display is bumped up to a Super IPS+ / Gorilla Glass display with a sick 1,920 x 1,200 resolution, on the rear we’ve still got an 8 megapixel rear camera but the resolution of its front facing camera is increased to 2 megapixel, and the unit is coming with a support for 1080p playback.
Connectivity wise we’ve got 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, a micro-HDMI port, microSD card reader, a 25 WHr Lithium-Polymer battery and a chassis that brings the weight of TF700T to just over a pound. It’ll ship with Android 4.0.1 and is compatible with the same keyboard dock as the existing Prime.
For these extra features we’ve seen an increase in price with a $599 to $699 instead of a starting price of $499. Expect to see it next quarter, but there is no word if this will have 3G. However, the GPS has been fixed with a modified back. We can’t wait, how about you?
