Rumors on the iPad 3 are flying fast and furious, but we thought we’d bring you the latest news from a source that really should be taken with a grain of salt, Digitimes.   It seems the latest rumor has moved up the iPad 3′s release from Steve Jobs birthday on February 24th up to iWorld which start on January 26th.

The iPad 3 will stick to the 9.7″ size and forgo the 7.85″ rumor that was meant to go head to head with the Kindle Fire, according to industry sources rather then change screen resolution or size Apple is going to let the iPad 2 take on the Fire.  The iPad 3 will rise to fill the mid-range and high-end segments.

Instead of the previously-rumored 7.85″, the upcoming iPad models will still feature 9.7″ screens but come with QXGA resolution of 1,536×2,048 pixels. In order to keep their screen top of the line they’ve now included dual-LED light bars designed for the new iPads to strengthen the brightness of the panels.

It’s going to be interesting to see how much of this is true, they’ve also thrown in that Apple continues to contract Samsung to manufacture its quad-core A6 processors.  The battery size has also been pegged as 14,000 milliampere-hour (mAh).
