Did you get an iPad 2 as a gift? Lucky, except if you’re not sure what to do with it. Well we’ve got a few suggestions on how to set it up.
The first thing that you’re going to have to do once you turn on your iPad is provide your Apple ID, or create one. If you’ve ever bought an Apple computer or made a purchase on iTunes you’ll have an Apple ID. Once you figure it out, sign in.
Once you get all signed in there are a few things you might want to consider doing. If you turn your iPad on and off that will active the ability for you to track it down if you loose it.
You might want to consider a password so that no one else can access it with out your position. I also recommend that you add a passcode to your iPad to prevent others from using it without your permission. In the settings there is also the option to setting a lockscreen message with your contact information in case you loose it, that way the person who finds it will have the option to return it.
Next you’ll want to know how to navigate your iPad. The quickest way to get acquainted is to watch Apple’s video below.
Next you’ll want to load it up with Apps so that you’ve got things to do with your tablet. To find new apps, check out the “App Store” on your iPad. I suggest looking at the Top app charts which show off the most popular free and paid apps.
You might want to download a magazine like National Geographic, Wunderlist (which is a great productivity app) there are lots of great articles for finding apps, but perhaps just start typing in things that your interested and go from there.
Once you get some apps on board you’re going want to back them up, luckily the iPad has a service called iCloud that will back up your photo’s, email’s, documents and everything on your iPad. You’re going to need to need to connect it Wifi & plug it in.
This should give you a good basis for getting started with your iPad! Enjoy!
