It looks like some people who pre-ordered the ASUS Transformer Prime are getting cancelation notice e-mails from Amazon, citing lack of availability from the supplier.
As mentioned in the e-mails, if charges were already made for the pre-order, they would be refunded.
Apparently when the original Eee Pad Transformer came out, ASUS also had trouble keeping up with consumer demand. Given the huge amount of interest in the Transformer Prime, it’s not hard to see the same situation happening this time also.
Of course, skeptical minds might wonder if ASUS is artificially limiting supply for whatever reason, but we’re willing to give them the benefit of the doubt this time. So many Android enthusiasts (and general gadget or tablet enthusiasts) are looking forward to getting their hands on the first quad-core Android tablet! Unfortunately not every one is going to be able to get a Transformer Prime before the holidays. But those of you who suffered canceled pre-orders may be able to try your luck at getting one in a retail store once Dec. 19 rolls around in the US. Just don’t get your hopes up too high, because in-store availability will likely be quite limited as well.
