The sleuths at Notebook Italia snooped around Acer’s website code and stumbled upon some details for a possible upcoming Iconia Tab A700/A701 model. While the size of the tablet wasn’t indicated in the XML file below, the screen resolution and processor details were:

It’s not surprising that the rumored A700/A701 will be equipped with a Tegra 3 processor; it would be surprising if it weren’t. However, the screen resolution of 1920 x 1200 is definitely a pleasant surprise. It’s just a little over 1080p HD resolution, and gives a screen aspect ratio of 16:10 instead of 16:9. Given the resolution, it’s probably safe to say the tablet will have a 10-inch screen. It’ll be a great screen for watching videos and playing graphic-intensive games.

However, given the different aspect ratio, and the fact that the screen resolution is not a whole-number factor above existing Android tablet resolutions for 10-inch screens, sizing up some apps may look a little strange. If the A700/A701 uses Ice Cream Sandwich, then at least that version of the OS is meant to more easily handle different screen sizes, so we’ll see how it works out.

According to other details in the full XML file (which hasn’t been taken down as of this writing), the A700 would supposedly be a Wi-Fi-only device, while the A701 would have 3G, a pretty standard differentiation. There aren’t any further details about pricing or availability at this time.
