The stunning and Ultra-thin hybrid tablet from Asus, the Transformer Prime, has gotten a lot of people excited for its official launch on November 9. According to Asustek’s CEO, the demand for the next-gen Android tablet sporting the first quad-core Tegra processor is quite high for the fourth quarter of 2011.

Jerry Shen said that 600,000 tablets will be shipped in Q4, thanks to all of the interest surround the Transformer Prime. This is not surprising, given the Transformer Prime’s premium specs:

  • 8.9mm thin brushed aluminum chassis
  • 10.1″, 1280 x 800 IPS display
  • NVIDIA Tegra 3, quad-core processor
  • USB, mini-HDMI ports
  • micro-SD card slot
  • keyboard dock that features Android-specific keys and a battery that extends tablet battery life to 14 hours

As we reported before, the Transformer Prime will be shipping with Honeycomb, but will get an Ice Cream Sandwich update soon after Android 4.0 is released.

We’re eagerly awaiting the Transformer Prime’s official launch on November 9. Be sure to check back for updates on the Transformer Prime’s pricing and availability around then.
