As the holiday shopping season quickly approaches, it seems retailers are getting a little too eager with their flyers, accidentally outing products not yet formally announced, like the Motorola XOOM 2. A Flyer from Carphone Warehouse, a European electronics retailer, shows a Wi-Fi only, 16 GB version of the Motorola Xoom 2 available for €399.90 (around $545 USD).

What’s a little puzzling from the flyer is the screen size spec: 8.2 inches. When we previously reported on Xoom 2 rumors, we heard that the successor to the original Xoom would have the same 10.1″ screen. But there was also a rumored Xoom 2 Media Edition that would supposedly have an 8.2″ matte touchscreen, a splashproof, magnesium and aluminum chassis (sounds similar to the Droid RAZR’s splashproof chassis), and some IR remote functionality, similar to Vizio’s 8″ Android tablet. Is it possible that the Xoom 2 will actually be a smaller tablet, with no 10.1″ counterpart? Perhaps Motorola could do a Xoom 2 “Plus” that has the 10.1″ display…

Also, the flyer disappointingly states that the Xoom 2 will come with Android 3.2 Honeycomb. So there’s still no sign of which Android tablet will first get Ice Cream Sandwich! Google is being quite tight-lipped about this information, it seems.

There’s no real release date for the Xoom 2 on the Carphone Warehouse flyer, just a vague notion of being available for Christmas in Ireland. No news on US availability.
