It hasn’t been that much of a well-kept secret, but now it’s official, Sprint users finally have access to the iPhone 4S.
In fact, Sprint has pretty much bet their business on the popularity of the iPhone by agreeing to buy 30.5 million iPhones over the next 4 years, equaling 20 billion dollars. However, this is a good step towards an actual 4G phone using LTE, now that the iPhone is offered on both Sprint and Verizon. It wasn’t likely that the iPhone 4S would have LTE because the technology is still not as rock solid and widely available across the US, but this deal with Sprint is likely one of the steps Apple is taking towards releasing a true 4G phone, iPhone 5 perhaps?
At any rate, if you’re a Sprint user with an upgrade coming to you, you’ve got an Apple product to consider now, starting on October 14.
