The Dell Streak was the first product on the market that was a hybrid phone/tablet and its gorilla glass screen completely won us over. The Streak 5 has been on the market well over a year and has finally reached its end of life. Last month Dell pulled the Streak 5 from store shelves and now their website has made its departure official.

“Goodbye, Streak 5,” the site reads. “It’s been a great ride.”

We still have no word on why the Streak has been discontinued, however, if we were to speculate, its 5 inch form factor isn’t compatible with the larger layout of Google’s current tablet-optimized OS, Android 3.2, or the upcoming Ice Cream Sandwich build.

So if you’re in the market for a Dell tablet you’ll have to consider the Streak 10 Pro or the Streak 7.
