Back at CES in January, Rullingnet showcased a 7-inch tablet for kids – which, at the time, was actually a Samsung fitted into some protective, rugged kiddie friendly-looking casing but the deal was to get Samsung to make another, more rugged 7-incher to take over the Galaxy Tab’s place right in that comfy center. It was expected to hit in either late Q2 or early Q2 for about $479. Neither of those dates were met but at least the price is right.
The Vinci Tablet is now up for pre-order at Amazon.com – take note parents with cash to burn. There are two models, one priced at $389, another at $479. The only differences I can see with what Amazon’s got up is the higher priced model has a 6-hour battery, compared to 3 hours on the lower priced model, and includes more pre-loaded learning content. The tablet sports a 7-inch 800 x 480 display, 1GHz Cortex A8 chip, 512MB of RAM and a 3MP rear facing camera. No ETA on Amazon but it’ll be launching in days (August 10) according to the homepage.
