The Toshiba Thrive just hit the streets and it seems users are experiencing a few glitches around sleep, wake and reboot. If you cruise the commons on most threads reviewing the Thrive you’ll be sure to come across a few comments that the Thrive often won’t come out of sleep mode. To fix this bug the user will have to do a hard reboot which isn’t exactly the most stress free way to get your tablet going. There are even some people noting that that they are seeing their tablet wake up all on its own!

Toshiba has announced that it will release a software update next week that resolves the sleep/resume problem. You’ll be able to grab the fix through the Thrive’s Service Station application. Along side the fix will be an update featuring some enhancements for multimedia playback.

The Toshiba Thrive is a 10.1-inch Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) tablet with the  NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor that features a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera. The Toshiba Thrive also has a HDMI and USB ports, and a micro SD slot. Apart from its replaceable battery, it otherwise retains all the standard Honeycomb tablet trimmings. The Thrive is available in a 16GB model retailing for $480 and 32GB model and an 8GB version for $430 from Amazon.
