The ASUS Eee PC X101 netbook is an Ultra thin netbook running the Linux operating system MeeGo has an official ASUS product page. It features a matte 10-inch 1024 x 600 resolution display, single core Intel Atom N435 CPU at 1.33GHz, 8GB SSD, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, 2x USB 2.0, microSD card slot, headphone, Kensington key lock and a 2600mAh 28Wh battery.

Interestingly, ASUS preloads a copy of the British Council English Language Learning app, complete with interactive games, videos and audio files, intended to assist non-English speakers to get up to speed. Whether the X101′s target audience will really appreciate that – or whether, perhaps more likely, it’ll be the first thing to be deleted from that mere 8GB SSD – remains to be seen.

Its up for pre order on Directron for $209 which is only $10 higher then predicted at $199. Its a little shady since it says pre-order but they will ship it to you directly from the manufacturer, if I were you I’d wait until August when I hear from ASUS it will actually be shipping.
