You know, we’re still waiting for Lenovo to launch their new 10-inch IdeaPad S100 netbook that was announced at the start of this year. It was supposed to launch months ago. But whatever, we’re now looking at the IdeaPad S100 with MeeGo and that low-cost Pine Trail based Atom N435 processor.
We’ve mentioned the design way back, and it’s barely any different from the previous IdeaPad 10-inch netbooks. It sports one of the best chiclet keyboards you’ll ever lay your hands on but the buttonless trackpad does take getting used to. Typical 10-inch netbook with a glossy 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 display and typical netbook ports; VGA, 3x USB 2.0, headphone, 4-in-1 card reader and RJ45 Ethernet. It’ll most likely ship with a 3-cell battery to keep this machine cheap. I’d guess a $199 price point like with ASUS’ X101 announced yesterday but this might end up heading towards developing nations instead.
