Peter Biddle from Intel’s AppUp! has a show on BlogTalkRadio called Atom Mashing Radio, what got me hooked was that “the views expressed do not necessarily represent those of Intel”. Funny how a disclaimer can peak my interest, but so far there has been nothing litigious or inflammatory, so far just good discussion of tech. This week he tackled an issue that I just can’t seem to get enough of education and technology. Peter & education technology consultant and reporter Chris Dawson discuss how technology and education come together. Chris began his career in health and education IT that ultimately led him to become Technology Director for his local school district where he ended up freelance writing and consulting in educational technology.
Together they tackel questions like: Why did the One Laptop per Child not revolutionize classrooms? What are the benefits of adopting open source software in educational environments? Is technology one aspect of education in which we can ensure a level playing field? And whether the netbook or the iPad is better suited for today’s classrooms.
