Looks like Motorola is going to be releasing a little gem with the Atrix 4G as its going to come with a laptop dock. The Motorola Atrix 4G will be sporting the new dual core NVIDIA Tegra 2, a 4-inch touch screen and 1 GB of RAM. It will also sport Android 2.2 with the Motoblur interface at launch, but hopefully it won’t be too long before its updated to Gingerbread. The Atrix also comes with an HDMI port, an internal capacity of 16 GB, a 5 megapixel camera and a battery of 1930 mAh.

The phone as you can see in the photo sticks out of the base of the laptop dock (also called Lapdock). Docking your phone turns this 11.6″ device into a netbook with a battery life of 8 hours, a full QWERTY keyboard. We don’t have any details on the resolution but it appears to be 1366 by 768 pixels.

Atrix 4G when plugged into its docking station, it is controlled with a large touch Pad (laptop screen is not touch Dock) and the Webtop interface, which is somewhat reminiscent of the Mac dock OS X.

Motorola has brought the full Web browser Firefox 3.6 on their new platform, it will be possible to install extensions and browse the web like a real computer. What is interesting here is that I’m reminded of a Google Chrome experience as Chrome also heavily relies on the cloud and browser plug ins to achieve productivity.
