Lenovo’s LePad, announced for a release in China by the end of this year, was meant to be the IdeaPad U1 Hybrid (seen at the start of this year and cancelled, along with the Skylight), done right, well at least for the tablet half of it – by switching over to Android over some custom built Linux off-shoot of their own. There have been numerous mentions of the LePad over the year all pointing to that debut in China and the latest saying it’ll come with Android 3.0 in the summer of 2011 (US release, I suppose) for a but we haven’t actually heard anything about it’s size.
Digitimes noted sources saying that the LePad is 7-inch in size. We’ll see if that turns out to be true. I think most of us were expecting something 10-inch in size since we’ve been recycling photos of the 11.6-inch tablet part of the U1 Hybrid.
