Barnes and Noble‘s 2nd e-reader offering, the 7-inch Nook Color, is now shipping ahead of its November 19 schedule for those who pre-ordered early and for those who didn’t, there’s “very limited” batches at brick and mortar stores such as Best Buy and Walmart for that same $249 mark. Engadget notes in their review of the NOOK Color (overall good, btw) that B&N will launch an app store in Q1 2011 next year with software especially designed for tablet.
