Update: A close up shot of the Jolibook:

Update: TechCrunch has an interview with Tariq Krim, who shows off the Jolibook retail box (about the 2:50 mark, pictured below) but he doesn’t open it up so we don’t get to see the actual netbook. He’s keeping mum on the price but let us know that it’s launching in the UK first.

The aim of Jolicloud is to bring non tech folks, like your parents, into the cloud and to get them familiar with popular websites and the netbook is the perfect vehicle for this. It’ll be very straightforward to set up – you login, enter your Jolicloud login (or Facebook login) and you’re ready to go. One last thing – they have no plans to enter the tablet space any time soon.

Jolicloud has posted some information on their website regarding what the Jolibook is going to come preloaded with the usual suspects of Chromium, Facebook, Spotify, VLC, and Skype apps to name a few. The 10.1″ netbook will be running an Intel Atom N550 and come with a 250GB Hard Drive. Sascha got to take a look at it a last month during a meeting with the Jolicloud gang and according to him the unit reminded him of an Acer Aspire One, it also had a great display. The word on the street is that it is going to be released this month in high hopes of being available for Christmas.
