this looks good but I really need some more info as to the graphics chip-set used because this looks like something I’d purchase over the Asus 1015PN because of the HD screen. I guess I’ll see what kind of reviews this gets. As far as I can tell its the standard ION2.

No ION2, it has only the basic Intel GMA3150.

Which, according to Intel and Samsung, is combined with the Atom N550 strong enough to play 720p videos (assuming you do not have 20 other windows open).
Which is fine for me really, the display with its 768p resolution canot really show 1080p vids anyway. Unless you watch them on another screen using HDMI a 1080p playback ability seems largely pointless to me on netbooks.

Personally I am actually happy about no ION2 since I do not plan to play games or watch 1080p vids on it and therefore much prefer the reduced fan noise and increased battery life.

well I wanted to get a netbook to use as both an HTPC and for mobile tasks.

Might want to take a look at the HP Mini 210, that one is available with an HD screen and a Broadcom Crystad HD (video) accellerator. To my knowledge that is currently the only netbook with an HD screen which can play 1080p movies well.

The screen is glossy, though, IIRC.
