Augen became a bit of a household name when they launched their $190 tablet in Kmart. With that bit of fame under their belt they are readying six new tablets, including a device that features dual-boot capabilities for Android and Ubuntu. It looks like they’ve got their sites set a little higher then Kmart this time around as the upcoming Latte and Espresso series offer a range of higher-end features and prices ranging from $200 to $600.
The Espresso Doppio has my attention with its Android/Ubuntu operating systems with a 10.2-inch touchscreen with 1024×768 resolution. The device is powered by a 1GHz ARM Cortex A9 CPU as well a 3 megapixel front-facing camera. If you aren’t ready to give up your keyboard we’ve got a docking option similar to Lenovo’s LePad. This is a trend we hope to keep seeing as it the dock and tablet have a integrated 6,000 mAh batteries, extending the runtime out to 15 hours if you are using them together.

The Espresso Dolce offers similar specs minus the keyboard dock and dual-boot. The Espresso also measures in at 7″ with 800×600 resolution.
The Latte features a 13-ounce design in a 7″ display with 800×480 resolution. It offers 2GB of integrated memory as well as an SD card. The Latte Grande retains the screen size, but with 800×600 resolution.
Augen is ambitiously aiming to have these out for Christmas the high-end Doppio priced at $600, the Dolce for $429, while the entry-level Espresso will be sold for $349. The Latte and Latte Grande are priced at $199 and 249, respectively.
