VR Zone has gotten a hold of an Intel roadmap for motherboards that reveals the company will be launching new desktop based Atom processors in the next quarter. There’s the D600 and D700 with the D600 presumably the single core version of the D700. The last desktop Atom processor so far has been the Atom D525 and can be found in any recent nettop. These new Atom processors will probably be based on Intel’s next generation Atom platform – Cedar Trail – hitting sometime this year. VR-Zone suspects Cedar Trail could debut as early as IDF Beijing which happens on April 12 – 13. The last rumored launch of Cedar Trail was by Digitimes and in September but that does seem quite late.
The D600 / D700 processors can be seen at the end, to the right of this roadmap.
