Despite debuting with the extremely popular MSI Wind U100 10-inch netbooks, MSI has since been coasting along making minimal changes to following netbooks though they did have a few bright spots such as with the short lived (in the US) hyrid MSI Wind U115 netbook. Their latest generation of netbooks, the Wind U135 and U160 finally got a complete chassis overhaul and were released at the start of this year but we’ve heard nothing about MSI netbooks since then – it’s been all tablets from them recently.
There’s nothing surprising here when we found out that the MSI Wind U160 will be getting an upgrade to the dual core Atom N550 processor so it can keep up with the competition. It’ll have the same chassis with the same bulging 6-cell battery. Sascha wasn’t too impressed with the build quality of the U160 either especially with plenty of keyboard flex.
