Update: We’ve got some more details in from Chippy over at CarryPad, added below – Peter.

The Acer Aspire One D255 will run at 1.5GHz with a 512 KB L2 cache for each core. Although having a dual core processor does not necessarily mean that it will have an optimal computing performance since it lacks the Intel Turbo Boost feature. The model that Intel lent us also comes with dual boot Android.

Other specifications include:

  • A 10.1 inch LED backlit display with a 1024 X 600 resolution (glossy)
  • Intel GMA 3150 integrated graphics
  • 1 GB DDR3 RAM
  • 250 GB hard drive storage capacity
  • Integrated with 802.11 b/g/n WiFi
  • Bluetooth connectivity
  • 6-cell 49Wh battery (no details yet on its usage time) (no SIM card slot)
  • Windows 7 Starter

We are going to benchmark this unit and run full tests so keep an eye out for a full review in the next few days.

Here are some details from Chippy who’s also got the Acer Aspire One D255 and tweeted some info tidbits. CrystalMark gives a total score of 35,945. How does that compare to other devices? Let’s see! Pretty impressive given that it’s beating AMD’s lower end Congo platform and Intel’s GMA 3150 graphics performance is rather pathetic.

On power consumption – a 4W minimum drain. 12W when rendering MJPEG VGA video. Handles 720p Youtube with no problems.
