Google CEO Eric Schmidt talked briefly about Chrome OS during his IFA keynote. Despite rumors about Chrome OS tablets now and then and talk about the OS overlapping with Android, the OS is officially aiming towards netbooks. There are no plans from Google to put the OS on tablets, at least initially, however that obviously won’t stop others from modifying the open source OS themselves to be suitable for tablets and Eric expects this and probably wants to see how that plays out, along with Android 3.0, having increased support for tablets.
