Update: Amazon Germany has the tablet up for 799 euros.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7-inch Android tablet was definitely the star of IFA 2010 but not everyone was too thrilled about the high price tags thrown about - around 799 euros, although that’s the RRP and price may start around 700 dropping to 600 euros and that includes expensive taxes.
On the other hand, the tablet will be more affordable in the US. One Samsung executive states a subsidized price of $200 – $300 while another states a price of $300 – 400 or a price just above their Galaxy S smartphone which runs at about $200.
On availability, we’ve seen the Galaxy Tab go live at Expansys.co.uk priced at 680 pounds for the 16GB model ($1050) with a shipping date of October 11, Vodafone has snapped up the tablet for the UK – they’ve got their product page all ready with a “coming soon” date. We’ve seen semi-confirmation of a Verizon release in the US and just recently BGR reported that it is heading over to Sprint with 3G and 4G. In Australia, Smarthouse says it will go on sale shortly and ARNNet says Optus might be one of the first telcos to snap up the tablet.
