Netbooks come with out a DVD/CD Rom drive as a result it is extremely difficult to install Windows XP / Windows 7 without a CD/DVD rom. This tutorial is for novice users and it is extremely easy to operate and prepare your USB pen drive to be used as a bootable installation option.. This GUI can be used for preparing USB disk/stick with XP/200x setup files in matter of just a few mouse clicks and it will be easy to install other operating systems as well.
Download : WinSetupFromUSB 1.0 beta6
Download : WinSetupFromUSB. 0.2.3 (Stable Version)
1. Unzip the software as it comes in a zipped format. You can use 7-zip (download) or any other zip software that is installed in your PC. Once unzipped, you need to open WinSetupFromUSB_1-0-beta6.exe

2. Now that the application has opened, you should see a lot of option as shown in the screenshot above. Insert a pen drive and click the Refresh button so that the drop down list recognizes the inserted USB drive.
3. Select the correct USB drive and click on the button called RMPrepUSB. This option is very important because it will open another window with options to format the USB drive with correct settings required to make the device bootable.

Under Boot Options Select : Option 1 for Windows 7 / Vista and Option 3 for WindowsXP
Under FileSystems Select : Option 2 or Option 3 depending on what type of FILESYSTEM you want.
Finally, click on the cyan Prepare Drive button to start the preparation process of the USB drive.
4. Before we get further into the process of making your own USB bootable pen drive, we must copy the original installation CD/DVD into the computer’s hard disk. This needs to be done via another PC as the installation data is required to continue the process.
Once that is done, we can get back into the main window and under the section “Add to USB disk” select the Setup that you want to add to your USB.
5. Now, click GO to make your own Bootable USB Pen Drive.
6. Your USB flash disk is ready to be used as an installation disk. To continue the installation on your Netbook you must change the settings in your BIOS to load the USB disk first.
7. Reboot your computer and you should have the installation window giving you options to install the operating system.
