Update (Oct 1): It’s not just Australians that will be getting Tegatech’s Tega V2 tablet – it’ll be launching globally on Oct 12 in North America, Europe and New Zealand as well. via GBM

Update (Sep 22): You may have noticed that this tablet is the same as the ViewSonic ViewPad which comes with a dual boot Windows 7 and Android configuration. While this tablet was announced with only Windows 7, Tegatech Australia has just announced that it’s also coming with Android, in addition to some accessories and a dedicated button for Ctrl-Alt-Del. via GBM

If you’re in the market for a Windows 7 tablet and you’re in Australia, then grab your pen ’cause you’ve got another one to add on to the list with Tegatech’s latest tablet – the TEGA v2.

You could probably guess the specs. We are looking at typical netbook specs with a few goodies. An Intel Atom N455 single core processor, 10.1″ display 1024 x 600 multi-touch capacitive, integrated graphics, up to 4GB DDR3 memory, 16 / 32 / 64GB SSD options, 0.3 / 1.3MP webcam, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Accelerometer and optional 3G / WiMAX. Battery life is rated at 4 – 5 hours. Ports – 2x USB 2.0, card reader, VGA, sim card and audio jack. It’s relatively thin and light for Intel based hardware at 14mm / 0.6″ thick and weighing in at 870 grams / 1.9 lbs.

Interestingly, one feature being touted is 1080p playback. With that hardware it would have to have a Broadcom Crystal HD card installed unless they are talking about DivX playback. No word on price but it will be “aggressively priced” when it hits sometime in September. For more info check out Tegatech.com.au along with their iPad spec comparison sheet.
