If you were dreaming of cheesecake for the next android release you’ll be interested in discovering that TechRadar has confirmed with multiple sources that after Gingerbread 3.0 the next iteration of Android will be called honeycomb. Nothing else has been confirmed in this rumor but the name, we have no word on if it will be 3.1, 3.2 but since Google has been a fan of incremental increases its doubtful that it would be the codename for 4.0.
We are still waiting on Gingerbread which is due out towards the end of the year and most likely through to CES with rumored tablets from Toshiba and Samsung. What will be interesting to see with this tablet OS is that Google is releasing a Android competitor with Chrome in November. Its going to be interesting to see how two operating systems from the same company are going to compete.
