Update  (9/9): Remember Qualcomm’s dual core 1.5GHz ARM Snapdragon processor? Well don’t expect it this year, let alone even early next year. Expect it out at the end of 2011, but in the mean time you can enjoy Qualcomm’s dual core 1.2GHz processor which is due out in Q1 2011. This is the latest news at the Qualcomm event that’s taking place in London right now. via Netbooknews.de

Got your eye on that iPhone 4? or perhaps that Dell Streak? or maybe even something upcoming like the Samsung Galaxy Tab? Well, you might want to jump back into waiting mode as a Qualcomm’s fastest and latest ARM based dual core processor will be shipping to manufacturers before the end of the year. What this means is at the very earliest, we could see tablets, smartphones and smartbooks with this processor announced before Christmas, though it is more likely that these devices will be launching early next year.

Want more details about this processor? It’s called the QSD8672 Snapdragon processor and includes two cores running at 1.5GHz and is based on an ageing 45mn processor. There will be 1080p HD video support along with HDMI and DDR 2 / 3 memory interfaces for smartbooks. It promises faster performance and less power consumption / more battery life. We saw this processor announced back in June a couple of months ago.
