Update: Brad from Liliputing has gotten the official word for a US release – sometime in the next few weeks with a starting price of $500 for the DVD model. A higher priced Blu-ray model will be launched in late September.
We’ve known about ASUS’ upcoming next generation dual core nettops, the Eee Box EB1501P and EB1012P for many months already, and they’ve both shown up at ASUS global’s product pages but what we haven’t heard or seen are any store listings or release dates.
Electricpig has gotten the official word from ASUS that the EB1501P will be hitting the UK sometime in late Q3 or Q4 priced at around £379.
To recap the specs on the EB1501P – a dual core Atom D525 processor (1.8GHz), Nvidia ION 2 graphics, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, 250GB HDD, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Windows 7 Home Premium. Some of the ports include HDMI, eSATA and 6x USB ports.
You can check out the ASUS Eee Box EB1501 over at ASUS Global.
