We took a trip down to the good folks at Shanzai.com to do some hands on with a few Shenzen tablets. This one is a beautiful copyright fusion of an internet explorer logo and Apple iPad design elements. EPad by Shenzhen Zhuo Nisi Technology is running on an ARM Cortex A8 processor running at 1GHz, the OS is Windows CE with a funky iPad-like GUI layer on top. This 10 inch tablet does not come equipped with Bluetooth or 3G support although there is a Ethernet adapter in the box.

Its available in China and I’m sure a few other Asian countries, if you order 100 pieces you’ll they’ll ship it to where ever you want, but it will run you about $140 a piece.

the reason their are no ports on the left side is because that is how most people will be holding it when tapping with the right hand.

You may want to verify the CPU specifications. The ZT-180 CPU is in fact an ARM11 processor, not a Cortex A8.

finally no smug applefan son of a b… reviewers. For me its obvious – 1000 dollar apple is crap comparing to like 200 dollar epad in my country hahah Yes thats right. Original ipad from apple cost one thousand dollars and its a f… scandal. Not worth 500 bucks, well… maybe 500 but still they sell epads for around 200 and its incomparable !

My “epad” seems to work fine but it’s running android – NOT what I was told when I ordered it. OK, so how does it work??? Terrible. I cannot stay connected to the net for more than a few minutes. I’ve tried everything suggested on the web (I’m a tech….just mostly industrial controllers and military stuff). I can’t find a way to update the software even though I have “detailed” instructions on how to do so: it’s for the older Android OS and this one is 2.0 update 1. Very few “phone” apps work with this machine….and a few that people say won’t work – do! The battery life seems short as it is supposed to last 4-5 hours. I’m lucky to get 1.5 and then only if it has come directly off the charger.
I’ve used every computer system out there, from a TRS-80 to a Perkin Elmer mainframe. After looking around at tablets and speaking with people who have them – buy an iPad. I’m typing this on a PC dual core 1TB and 4g, but the older Mac behind me is faithfully transfering video tapes to my server 3tb. Apple may be a pain about a lot of things (don’t get me started on iTunes!) but their software usually works well and if there is a problem, they’ll take care of it.
    Period.
