The Google Nexus 7 is probably the most powerful and affordable tablet in the 7 inch category. Without a doubt, it’s the definitive example of Google’s attempts to make Android tablets mass produceable and inexpensive. The ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity TF700T is perhaps, in this respect, the opposite of the Nexus 7. The 10.1 inch tablet’s screen is significantly larger with a much better resolution of 1920 x 1200. The Transformer Pad Infinity is the more expensive and luxurious choice, while the Nexus 7 is clearly a budget tablet, albeit an impressive one.
The two devices really couldn’t be more different. Interestingly enough, the one feature both tablets share is the NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad core processor. The strength of the Tegra 3 processor makes the Nexus 7 competitive in a way that no other 7 inch tablet can be. It’s lack of special features in comparison with the Transformer Pad Infinity’s wide range of features makes it clear that the Nexus 7 is a very different beast. The folks at Mobile Tech Review have taken a closer look at both tablets to determine which device suits which kind of user:
