Look’s like the Galaxy Note has inspired a new product category and the newest addition is a dual SIM competitor that will be showing off at IFA in Berlin at the end of August. The 5.3 inch Thompson X-View 2 comes armed with a 1GHz single core processor and 512MB of RAM.

We will of course take a closer look at IFA and put it under the microscope, but the quick specs now are Android 4.0, 800 x 480 screen resolution, Cortex A9 CPU and a 5 megapixel rear facing camera and a VGA edition on the front. As we mentioned before it also comes with two SIMs as well as a microSD card capable of up to 32GB since the 512MB of internal storage clearly won’t be enough.

No word on pricing but we’re sure that we’ll hear more at IFA next month.

Should be nice for travellers that want mobile data at local price, but still want that people can call or text their usual number without issue.
