Looks like Taiwan is getting a little piece of hardware before the rest of the world, ASUS is releasing a Eee line of USB hard drives, PC Home is listing a 1.8 inch, 30GB USB hard drive from Asus which is selling for about $31 US.
Why I think this is pretty interesting is that a 30G Flash Drive might run your $100 so a 30GB 1.8″ USB Hard drive seems like a pretty good deal. Just think about copying files between computers or just carrying around some documents, media, or other files on the go.
I think I might pick one up for video editing during conferences, I always need to have an external attached to my computer for those large HD files, 1.8 inches is way more reasonable then then 5 x 3 inch HDD I’m using now. It might be smaller in capacity, but 30GB would be just enough to get the job done.
