The Japanese manufacturer has launched the Kouziro Frontier FT103, a true mega-tablet that is specifically designed for stationary use. The FT103 has a 21.5-inch diagonal display with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels. It runs on Android 4.0 and is probably best suited for use in the kitchen. For some bizarre reason, Kouziro decided not to integrate a rechargeable battery and it can only be powered via AC adapter.
Behind the 21.5-inch display lies a TI OMAP 4428 processor with two 1.0 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 cores. It also has 1GB of RAM and 8 GB flash memory. There are two USB 2.0 ports, a MicroUSB port, MicroHDMI port, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR, card slot and a 1.2-megapixel camera. The operating system is Android 4.0 “Ice Cream Sandwich”. The mega-tablet is 2.5 inches thick and weighs 5 kilograms. At that weight, it’s best if the tablet remains stationary. It costs around $438.
