Sharp & Frog Design Develop New Interface for Android *Video*

The Japanese electronics giant Sharp has teamed up with Frog Design Studio, to develop a new interface for Google’s mobile operating system Android. The result is the so-called “Feel UX”, the “easy to use, highly personalized and visually impressive,” interface. The new interface should be around this summer for the first time, on the expected next generation of Sharp Aquos smartphones. Sharp wants to stand out in the very competitive Japanese smartphone market with its attractive new design.

Frog Design has simplified the display and removed unnecessary graphics and other disturbing elements. This should be immediately obvious to the user, while using the phone. For experienced users, however new Android tools for organizing and optimizing their smartphones are included that will allow an unprecedented level of personalization. Among other things, there’s a new lockscreen that allows photos and widgets to be used without unlocking the device. It has a redesigned home screen, which can be customized to your liking.
