Right now ASUS is leading the pack when it comes to USB 3.0 adoption on netbooks and ultra-thin notebooks, but only for Intel based systems. With AMD’s Ontario based Fusion chips (combining GPU and CPU) re-scheduled earlier for a Q4 2010 release this year we might be seeing AMD based devices with USB 3.0 at launch.
Word from Digitimes is that AMD is in talks about licensing USB 3.0 and is considering integrating it into an upcoming southbridge that will go together with Fusion chipsets.
