Update: The M101z will be launched in the US next month in August. Brad over at Liliputing has an unboxing video with a few shots – check ‘em out. Video after the break.
This announcement caught me totally off guard – Dell has launched the Inspiron M101z, a second generation 11-inch notebook. Their first 11-inch offering being the aging Dell Inspiron 11z (recently got a proper trackpad upgrade recently, btw).
The Inspiron M101z is powered by AMD’s new Athlon II Neo processors – either an Athlon II Neo K125 (single core) or K325 (dual core) along with ATI RS880M integrated graphics (I’m not familiar with this one).
On the design front, it carries a similar design to their other recent Inspiron releases and unlike the Inspiron 11z it has a flush battery and a proper trackpad from the get go.
Looking at the rest of the specs: An 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 display (glossy), 2GB / 4GB DDR3 RAM, 250GB / 320GB HDD, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, 1.3MP webcam, Bluetooth 3.0, HDMI and a 6-cell battery good for up to 6.5 hours (probably 4 hours in real life).
